WHAT’S FOR DINNER?

A feature film about life’s biggest questions.

Logline
The struggle of two codependent brothers deciding what to eat for dinner becomes a metaphor for larger life decisions when they stay the weekend in the vibrant chaos of LA’s Koreatown with the youngest’s willful girlfriend.

Director’s Statement
The original concept for What’s for Dinner? came from an improvised, one-scene short film starring two actual brothers. Their only prompt was to never agree on what’s for dinner. As their humorous improvisation unfolded, their argument expanded into personal attacks and threats to end their relationship. Our feature film expands on this.

Koreatown has been my home for several years now. Many films set here focus only on violence or crime. Our film distinguishes itself from other stories set in Koreatown by offering a more nuanced and intimate portrayal of the neighborhood. It presents Koreatown as a vibrant and culturally rich community where personal relationships and emotional journeys take center stage. By doing so, our film showcases the neighborhood's warmth, diversity, and the sense of belonging it offers to those who call it home.
